The recent Diamond post on the Dominion occupation brings up an issue I want to address before it potentially causes any concerns: writing about other empires.
Writing about another player's empire is always a delicate issue; we each create our own little story with its own rules and when others write about it, as must happen in the course of game interactions, there is an inherent information problem. It is important to remember that one cannot write things about another race or empire that the author of that empire/race considers untrue. This goes from the mundane, such as describing a D'kali as being gendered, to socio-political, such as making up notions of the Dominion religion without consulting me. This also carries over to events; for instance, Lewiddyion could not blame the recent terrorist attacks on some other empire or alien race outside his control (without first asking for and gaining permission from the author in question).
So, as such, Diamond's recent post on the Dominion occupation is fine, since he rightfully interprets the Dominion backstory as that of an Empire which would be oppressive in occupation. Additionally, he used the piece I wrote on the occupation as further grounding. I just want to say to everyone moving forward, however, if you are at any point unsure about something, I urge you to consult with one another, because if a post is made that I or Maccalus (Tau Ceti) find inappropriate according to the reasoning above, we won't hesitate to remove it.

Word on the street is that the Dominion was behind the suicide bombing attacks.
Sarcasm aside great post and really makes sense!

Well, I couldn't authentically implicate someone else at least, without pre-arranging it. I could bomb the shit out of my own citizens and then create fake evidence that it was someone else, but I would feel obliged to provide an 'inner sanctum' type scene which revealed the nefarious plot to readers OOC.
In terms of general RP advice, I'd suggest putting yourself in compromising situations where someone can take advantage of that. The best heroes have tragic flaws. The Best villains have redeeming characteristics. So for example, if someone really wanted to piss me off (re: get on the bad side of the Kortl), I left a rather large opening for someone to take credit for the bombings for about a year until I "solved" the issue.

From start to finish, I couldn't have said it better myself. These lines are grey and flexible, which is why I really emphasize the importance of communication between the players involved. For instance, if I wanted to have the Dominion involved with the bombings somehow, it would be important that I float the idea first. And yes to the best villains having redeeming characteristics and the best heros having serious flaws. A thousand times yes.
