About a dozen or so turns ago I colonized a planet with ruins. My understanding as this provides a random tech, however, I'm almost positive I never received this tech. I received a msg that said I colonized and found the ruins, however this msg didn't say what was found.

Any ideas?

I'd say that the tech you found in those ruins was one you already knew in that case. It's kind of like finding a goodie hut in Civilization. Sometimes it's a totally new tech, sometimes it's the one you were a turn away from researching yourself.

At least it wasn't barbarians
