store.steampowered.com/app/293010'Caribbean!' is a sandbox pirate RPG with a larger focus on battles (both on land and in the sea) and management of player's character and his crew. This is a pretty cool early access game. Mount and Blade is kind of a first person Total War game, and pirates is a classic pirate game. If you are familiar with both of these games you will probably be as excited as me! I've picked up the early access and it is quite a lot of fun.

I loved Mount & Blade Warband (200 hours on Steam) although I didn't like With Fire and Sword much.
The premise of Caribbean! sounds nice, but if it's just an overpriced mod for Mount & Blade, I think I will pass.

This is a whole new game just made in the Warband WF&S engine. It is only $15 which is a movie ticket or a meal out where I live in the US, so in that context it isn't expensive.

Unless you count 15$ as expensive for the privilege of watching a single movie once over...ugh...

R$28,00 down here in Brazil. That would be about 150% the price of a movie ticket. Not expensive if it's really a full fledged game. Anyway, I'm done with Steam "Early Access". I'm only buying finished games from now on.

Yeah, I understand Early Access, however this is a game I've been dying to play for ages. It really it pretty solid and it was just released. My whole point was just to put $15 in context and just to show it isn't THAT much (at least for me)

Word up here is that you guys are mismanaging the Olympics so badly the IOC is taking charge of things directly

Too many games, not enough time. That said I will definitely check it out because I loved Pirates! and Mount & Blade was pretty entertaining when I tried it, just unpolished.
Master System makes a good point about this early access trend, but it seems to be what people want. Instant gratification for the player at the expense of not putting out a finished product. I think it can lead people to grow tired before the game is in its best form.
Thanks Amarr / IQ!

I don't know much about the Olympics, but the World Cup preparations themselves are lagging behind schedule even now. I will get a large bucket of popcorn and watch the chaos. Last year there were massive anarchist manifestations throughout the country (Like the Printemps Érable but bigger and more violent) during the Confederations Cup. Everyone is expecting it again during the world cup. At least, the World Cup served as motivation to use the army to pacify Rio's slums. We will have to wait to see the long term results.
