Couple things.
Apparently multiplayer games have lots of desync issues right now, introduced with the 2.0+ patch. There are some fixes, but they involve using hamachi and turning off some of the dlc components. Going to investigate further to see if there are workarounds, as having to reload/restart every 45 minutes seem bad.

It might not be that bad though,
Apparently, keeping the game at speed 2 will fend off desyncs and crashes. But it will result in reloading after each crash, which will occur eventually, 45 mins to three hours. It seems inevitable.

I might have to buy and figure out the game. Play as a Byzantine vassal and annoy your liege with requests for titles and kingdoms. Actually, what could be a lot of fun is instead of playing the kings of different realms, we could have a game where we all play the dukes of different noble houses in a single Empire, and compete for the Imperial throne.

Well, after a few days of playthroughs, I think I have a basic grasp on the game and I am ready to be a minor player in the grand scheme of europe.

After doing a lot of research, I think I might put off a game until the next patch. They are linking multiplayer to steamworks so it will sort out the desync issues which make playing multiplayer pretty not fun right now.

I might be screwed, because my copy of CKII is not through steam. I already cannot get the CKII-EUIV transformation thing because of it
