The Zamada Izam is the state religion of the Dominion of Zabéara and the faith of over 99% of its citizens. The basic principles of Zamada Izem (The Path of Light):
- Recognition of two supreme gods who created the universe: AZHA, the god of order, law, and light, and ILUNTAZH, the god of chaos, disorder and darkness. The two gods existed in relative peace until AZHA decided to create sentient life in the universe in a way that was an affrontement to ILUNTAZH’s vision. ILUNTAZH has since conspired to assail, corrupt and even destroy sentient life, while AZHA sent prophets to all his sentient creations to protect, rally, and ultimately muster them to the righteous cause.
- There will be a final battle between AZHA and his sentients and ILUNTAZH, in which AZHA will be victorious. At this point time will stop and there will be a remaking of the universe fully in AZHA’s image.
- Adherence to the holy scriptures written by the prophets, known as the Yaztha
- Followers of Zamada Izem must help build order by actively contributing to the spreading of law, order, and the true faith across the universe. It is the divine mission of its adherents to preach and send missionaries to unconverted societies. Upon first contact, an unconverted society is given four choices:
The Book: The immediate conversion to the Zamada Izem according to the holy scriptures (Yaztha)
The Tribute: An agreement to keep whatever original beliefs held by the society, but acknowledgement of loyalty and superiority of the Zamada Izem, actualized in annual tribute, and a sworn promise to fight for AZHA on the final day.
The Coin: An agreement to allow trader-missionaries into the society to commence with conversion efforts without an immediate agreement to conversion. This option is the minimum required for any trade agreement to be allowed between the two societies.
The Sword: The rejection of the Zamada Izem and the commencement of a hostile state between the Dominion of Zabéara and the society in question.
