We have a few procrastinator extremists though, so I suspect if we move to 48, we'll be at 48 all the time every time =D

We do indeed have some serial procrastinators who will no doubt stretch things out to the very last seconds of a 48 hour turn and beyond. However, my tolerance for such things is inversely proportional to the turn length. At 48 hours, a request for extension better be a death in the family or a class 5 Kaiju attack.

Since it will take only 5 minutes for me to do the turn (unless I have simulations/ship design to do), I'm fine with 24 hours so far. I don't have a problem with 48 hours but I think the slower the pace, the more uninterested in the game people tend to get.

I'll be within "America's Mongolia" for Christmas... also known as Montana. I'll be scrounging for an Internet connection most of the time and vote in favor of the 48 hour cycle for the holidays.

Unless the poll changes by tonight's due date, the next turn (turn 61) will be a 48-hour turn, and will continue to be so until a plurality of voters suggest otherwise.

Changed my vote to 48. After Jan 1, we can revisit the issue. =)

"According to data from the last two years, collected by M-Lab, a joint effort of Google and the New America Foundation, Montana has the slowest average download speeds in the country — a measly 2.57 Mbps."

So, I've had multiple requests to pause the game or slow it down even more due to Christmas considerations. While I am loath to pause it altogether, I think its reasonable to slow things down down to 72 hours for a bit in order to accommodate these requests. So, the Christmas turn processing schedule will be as follows:
December 20th (48 hours) December 22nd (48 hours) December 25th (72 hours) December 28th (72 hours) December 30th (48 hours)
If anyone would like to propose amendments to this schedule, post here please.
Also, I would like to point out it is very bad form to invade someone if they are away and just queueing up their turns during the holidays. For god's sake gentlemen, its Christmas!

I would like to bump this thread as a friendly reminder for people to voice what they would like the post-holiday turn rate to be.

I still prefer 24 hour turns, but if anyone feels rushed by that schedule, 48 would be fine. I changed my vote to reflect that.
