Speaker's Gish and Volith have agreed, recently to merge septs. A rare move where two smaller septs agree to combine. Normally such an action is taken when a Sept undergoes tragedy and lacks enough members to handle their current efforts. In this case, both Gish and Volith have full septs, making their new sept one of the largest on Jorvik. However, there have been few complaints as it is understood, given the extensive mandate of managing the new colony, that the additional members will be allocated to prevent burnout there.
However, in the merger, Gish permitted Volith, a very young speaker from Vekk, to take the speaker role essentially immediately promoting Volith to high speaker of Poseidon and direct overseer of all civilian developments and military deployments there.
Gish, however, seems to harbor no hard feelings and spoke at length about the merits of Volith's proposed industrial reforms and how Volith had made some progress negotiating with the Dominion in just his first few months of ruler-ship there.
At twenty seven, Volith is the youngest speaker in three centuries to have accelerated to a governance speaking role.
