The Great Thu slowly blinked his golden eyes and noded his head to his servants. "I will grant him an interview. Let him in."
The small humanoid walked in wearing the colorful religious robe. The Great Thu moved his palps, indicating his disdain for the aliens. He had never seen one of them personally though he had heard stories of how carelessly they wasted resources for no logic reason. He was willing to tolerate their bizarre ways as long as they remained in their own space but he was becoming increasingly disturbed as their missionaries had obtained a measure of success in converting a relatively large number of Sethulkra. He hadn't completely understood what they had meant by trader-missionaries and accepted their proposed "coin" supposing they would be no different from the other alien traders the Sethulkra had met so far. Perhaps something was lost in the translation, but by missionary, he thought of someone assigned a mission. A trade mission. Had he known they would actively try to convince their clients and suppliers to their strange way of thinking, he wouldn't have agreed so fast to their proposal.
"Greetings oh Great Thu. I come in the name of the Great Azha in a mission to spread his shinning light among your people. As you have previously agreed to I came here to teach you righteousness."
The Great Thu hissed at his presumption. Had he actually used the verb "to teach" with the Great Thu of the Sethulkra Hive as the object? How dared he? From where came such self confidence? What could possibly motivate him to act in such a suicidally bold manner? What he knew that the Great Thu didn't? Though he knew his patience with the alien could hurt his servant's opinion of him, he decided to run the risk in order to understand those strange words.
"What is this light you speak of? Our species have optical organs capable of receiving light emissions but why do you spend so much time trying to spread the light emmited by this Azha creature? Why do you think our people would have need of more light in our tunnels?"
The small baeshènz pondered in silence for some moments and then answered. "The light I speak of is the knowledge of the law of Azha. It helps our people to see in the darkness of this universe. Perhaps sound would be a better metaphor from your point of view. I came to help your people understand the will of your creator and how to escape Iluntazh's attacks. The Setulkra are a powerful species, specially created by Azha to help him win the war for righteousness. The Great Thu has an important role to play before the final day."
The Sethulkra ruler moved his large leathery body, showing the dark shiny skin of his posterior to the visitor before settling again in a more confortable position. It meant he was intrigued. The alien missionary had captured his attention.
