A ship known as the DDX 001 Defender, an older model constructed prior to the Tau Ceti treaty of turn 50, departs from the fleet and performs a Hohmann Transfer to the Ursae Majoris Wormhole.
Location: Ursae Majoris, Stardate: Turn 59.5
Exiting from the wormhole the DDX 001 Defender is immediately set upon by the Hive Defensive Fleet. Against 17 heavily shielded Heavy Destroyers and 3 Escorts, the lone DDX Defender 001 destroys 2 enemy ships before falling to rudimentary laser weapons. But not before transmitting valuable data. A brave sacrifice made by it's captain and crew.
