Let it be known that the Sethulkra Hive, on turn 71, destroyed 2 unarmed colony ships in the Tau System. This is in violation of a negotiated cease fire.
2 Million citizens of the Alliance were killed.
An appropriate response is yet to be determined.

The Sethulkra Hive apologize for the unintentional destruction of the two colony vessels and the associated loss of life. We expect the families of the innocent deceased to accept our condolences.
However, the story is not so simple. The SH Prauwihq had been stationed at the Tau/Ares warp point for some time. Alliance leaders knew there was no treaty (since they unilaterally had broken it in the first place) and ordered both colony ships into a sector they knew there was a hive scout. Of course, since there was no treaty, the scout had orders to attack any unknown vessels on sight. The order is not unreasonable considering the unprovoked destruction of a Hive space station orbiting the asteroid belt in Ares, inside Hive space and the threat to invade our homesystem only, a couple of months ago. The problem is compounded by the fact that both colony ships were crossing the border to Hive space, with destinations and purpose known only by the alliance leadership.
While we have no ability to read minds, from the information available to us, we can only conclude that the Darkstar Alliance is trying to create "facts". There is no possible way they didn't know that by ordering their ships to that specific sector would result in their destruction. The blood of those two million citizens rest in their own hands.
We believe the intention of this cold blooded plot was to pressure us into accepting a non-agression treaty that can be later abused to bypass our defenses and directly invade our homesystem. Since they have betrayed our partnership, invaded our space, destroyed one of our starbases and threatened our very homeworld, we believe we're justified in assuming the worst from them.
We have sensors logs to back what we've said.

You think this is some sort of "False Flag" event? Why would we waste such resources. We withdrew our attack fleet turns ago. We extended a treaty agreement to you, which you ignored. You placed your attack ship at that worm hole. We stated our colonization plans.

Oversight or deliberate action, those two million people are dead all the same. You knew, or should have known, what would happen when you ordered civilian ships to move in that sector. In case we receive any lawsuit from the affected families, we will redirect them to your government.
We haven't agreed to any colony of yours inside our border. Besides, even if we had, you only asked for one colony. There were two colony ships.
You "extended" a treaty having a large fleet in our doorstep. That treaty would have allowed your fleet to move unharmed through our defenses and lay siege to our homeworld. Considering your previous treacherous and eratic behavior, we were forced to assume the worst.
The blame for the tragedy lies in its totality at your feet.
