AGNS - Aso Galactic News Service 2407.1
Two days of intense bombings have rocked the Kortl homeworld. Current twenty six regional speakers are dead, along with the destruction of several megaplex structures. The total death count is over twelve thousand at the moment, and rising as strained rescue crews are still being deployed.
The bombers have not, at the time of this report, been unidentified, and none have claimed responsibility. It is assumed that the movement was domestic, but as there are currently no known networks capable of such a large-scale effort, there remains little to even speculate on. Intergalactic powers are not currently suspected. A planetary lockdown has been issued, and it's uncertain as to when that might let up. All visiting embassy staff have been asked to take up residences in the crowded meditations centers in orbit until things settle down.
The Jorvik task force has graciously agreed to move in their homefleet to help assist and organize rehabilitation efforts. A component of the NCII-RTF2 (Recon Task Force Two) has broken off to reinforce the now absent Jorvik homefleet. Bauxite colony was unable to lend any ships to the effort.
High Speaker Volith Greyforge, speaking for the collected colonial worlds of the Kortl, had this to say.
"We will not tolerate terrorism, whatever the source. Trust that I will be working with the remaining speakers of Aso to find and eliminate those behind these reprehensible attacks. Although there isn't much I can tell you yet, I can verify that we will not be holding elections until we speakers can reassess our existing security measures."
