Volith Greyforge appears on a wide spectrum broadcast. Volith Greyforge, High Speaker for the Kortl briefly introduces himself and establishes that he has prepared a live statement which will be presented in two hours. He walks from the podium.
Volith Greyforge, as seen in the Mira Confluence broadcast, 2407.7.
The next two hours the broadcast remains live, with only static and the ambient hum of electricity moodily disrupting the perfectly still scene. Then a few seconds before two hours elapse, he returns.
"First I must take a moment of silence to attend the spirits of the sixty-seven scientists and twenty-nine naval personal who died in service today." He pauses for a long moment. Two or three breaths. The electical humming even seems to still in the background as the High Speaker stares into the distance.
He begins again. "Yesterday, a Sehylm v4, the first in a new series of scientific exploration vessel, was destroyed in Mira by the Interstellar Trade Corporation war-fleet positioned there. I'm appending loadout specifications for the vessel in a lower band of this broadcast, those wishing a raw dump of the diagnostic files we have on the event are more than welcome to the data."
"The nature of the fleet we observed in the short time the vessel was transmitting data to our core computer hubs, we were able to discern that the Interstellar Trade Corporation currently has a fleet of around eighty warships within less than three astronomical units of the Amarr home world, Earthsea X, even accounting for warpgate dispersion times.
"While KNITSEC, Kortl Naval Intelligence Security, has suspected for some time that the Company maintained a military presence there, we never assumed they would build up such a large fleet, or that it would unilaterally destroy an unarmed scientific vessel."
The High Speaker sighs, and runs a hand across his brow, then seems to resolve himself of a choice.
"For several years, the unknown status of the Nebula, a sovereign Amarr sector deep behind their borders, has allowed the Company to have an invisible choke-hold over the Amarr with the potential of a warfleet hidden behind their borders. No longer is it a mystery, but a glad thing that they wisely held their fleets at home, to prevent the murderous intent of the Company to assault their world from the cowardly hole in which they hid."
"When our vessel went to the nebula, they expected to learn much about it's nature, and perhaps, I will not hesitate to admit, pick up some trace information on the Compnay presence there. We did not expect them to destroy our unarmed vessel, particularly after a few months ago we specifically sent them information that our ships would be making patrols into Amarr space and that they should instruct all vessels to fire only when fired upon, as we would do the same."
"This instruction comes from the insulting situation where the Company has kept intelligence vessels within our borders for several years, finally forcing us to destroy them for their lack of respect of our borders. Perhaps the destruction of this vessel is payback for our seemingly strict enforcement of border discipline.
"That may be the case, but we cannot accept that. I will not accept those losses, or the continued state of aggravation they place us under as a clearly hostile power intending to smear us and manipulate our friends. These things, we will not tolerate."
"Although we have long tried to seek a peaceful resolution, we have no choice but to extricate all Company vessels from Amarr space. Legally, our diplomatic agreements permit our warships unmitigated access to Amarr space, as per our defensive pact, and we shall abuse the technical rights in that pact for the coming purge. Perhaps we risk alienating some of the friendlier elements of the south, but hope to reassure them at no Kortl Vessel will reach beyond Amarr space. This is not an invasive action, and hopefully, as such, they will see no need to heed any Company propaganda that this is an offensive measure, and intervene.
At this point, a pair of gargantuan three meter tall Kortl mechanized Honor Guards step up from behind a hidden precipice behind the podium at which the High Speaker has stood at.
Volith Greyforge flicks a finger and the giant soldiers, towering behind him take an aggressive and menacing posture. Their Plasma amphora grow brighter.
"We will not wait for the Company to tighten their grip, instead we bring a hammer to their doorstep, like they held against the Amarr, for so many years. The difference here is that we will not hide in the shadows.
He raises an eyebrow.
"Of course, if the Company determines to withdraw every single vessel from Amarr space, they shall then save many from unnecessary deaths, and the purge shall become unnecessary. We advise whatever sane elements exist within the Company, that they withdraw their vessels immediately for our task-force is now on-route or convince those in power to do so."
Volith Greyforce flicks another finger, and the two massive Honor Guards turn in unison and leave view, followed by the High Speaker, a few seconds before the feed dies.
