Thousands of years ago this race of humanoids was driven off their home worlds by a war mongering robot race known as the Cylons. Tens of thousands of light years away from their old home worlds, the few that survived settled on a new home world. Abandoning their old technology they began anew.
Since then, the colony has been ruled by a long family line of autocratic leaders known as the Adamas. Tales of their military heroics that led them to their new home world are now apart of scripture and help maintain their power over the Adama Imperium. The Adama Imperium seeks explore the galaxy, colonizing new worlds to help stave off the ever present threat of alien invasion and in hopes to one day find the home worlds of their forbearers; The completion of a grand history for the Adama Imperium. The stories of their forbearers' struggles has shaped the society to become autocratic. A long family line of military leaders has maintained order over the imperium for thousands of years. The history of their struggles against, a now lost, robot race has dictated policy, economy and philosophy. Although fairly advanced, the society is still generally distrustful of AI computer technology. Lately though, the imperium has maintained that responsible advancement of computer technology is the only way achieve the imperium's goal of colonization and exploration.
