Yeah, I watched a video of it. It does look neat, but I fail to see how it stands out when such games as Distant Worlds exist. THIS being said, do not confuse that with not wanting to give it a true ;o)
Just wondering... what is it really bringing to the table.

I don't think this is trying to be a distant worlds. Seems more like a Sins of the Solar empire. The guy who is making it (alone!) answered a few of my questions in a random Reddit thread. Either way I really like the simple design/style and it seems like it would be very easily modable.

That was you on Reddit? I read it all. Actually thought it might have been with how quickly this was posted on here after reading it on Reddit  And yeah, very plausible as well. I did note he was a one man show, hopefully with a bit more community liking that the creator of StarDrive. I agree on the SoaSE resemblance, but the simply graphics and such... I dunno, I'll wait and see! Either way, like I said, I'll certainly give it a try! |

Another person contacted me on reddit today about the game...all I can say is, who are these redditors who apparently check reddit once every 6 weeks? I can't avoid it for more than a day!

"StarDrive" what a disappointment. The developer and game held such promise. Shame the dev handled the project/community in such a way and then abandoned it.

I read an article on spacesector I believe where the developer was moving onto StarDrive 2 (StarDrive Unity, perhaps?), though I cannot recall all of the details. But yes, the game was a bit of a disappointment IMO.
And yeah, I'm on Reddit all the time. And some particular sub-Reddits as well!
