The torchlight in the stone chamber cast an eerie light across the reliefs adorning the walls. Archon Rakx traced a dark claw over stylized carvings of D'Kali warriors, old stories of battle with the dark gods played out in slate and granite. They were old stories, stories that repeated themselves over and over. As a whelp, his first memories were hearing those tales around the fires from the clan elders. Always the same ending, with the children of Kalisa vanquishing and devouring in the Mother-God's name. And now, there were new gods to protect themselves from.
They had called themselves Solvani. The Preyseeker had made first contact, the blundering creatures daring to challenge the scout ship and paying for arrogance in blood. When the Solvani had heeded further warnings to stay away, the Archon had thought them humbled. The Solvani had even started to talk of respect and co-existance. As his claw followed the contours of his forebearers laying low the trickser god, Rakx wondered if it had truely been defeated, for the Solvani had proved just as duplicous.
With his borders seeming secure, Rakx had allowed the Nomad to launch, a great ship bearing the first D'Kali pilgrims to the distant planet of Xar'son, named for the Wandering God. It was then the Solvani showed their true colors. Half a dozen warships appeared in the Tarsonis system just as the Nomad was preparing to land. "And now...now the hunt begins anew..." Rakx growled softly in the temple chambers, lookingback to his spawn-mate in the doorway. "It is time, sibling. We make homage to Roxal at first light. Send signal across the Hegemony. If the Solvani wish war, I want our hunters ready to recieve them" Tralx' snout split into a tooth smile as he nooded to his elder sibling and turned for the communcations spire.
